i have a ps2 and i am getting a ps3 ff christmas. i was wondering if i should save up for games for it . or i have money for an xbox. should i buy an xbox and play halo and other cool xbox exclusive games or save for ps3 games
it is the first xbox (old kind)

why get a console. get a pc sure it costa more but it has better graphics,sound and gameplay is more enjoyable.. you can play halo1+2 on a higher resolution. gta 4 is coming out in novermber. but then again halo kinda sucks and also on a pc you can play Crysis and Crysis warhead, their pc exclusive because consoles dont have the hardware to play it. but the system requirmtns are ridiculus and the avarage pc cant play it, but its worth it since both games are great. i love them!!!

I have a wireless connection to my Xbox 360 for Xbox live. Right now I have to turn on my desktop PC and connect to internet so I can connect to Xbox live on my Xbox 360.

Is there a way to connect to Xbox live without turning on my PC?

if its wireless from PC via a card or adapter there is no way to turn off your PC while on live. if its a wireless modem / router it's a constant wirless connection and should need a PC to have it on.

I have xbox 360 and xbox live. I set up iternet connection sharing through my laptop to play xbox live and it worked for about a week, that is, until i went to columbus and brought my xobx 360 and laptop with me. To use the internet at my hotel i had to change alot of settings on my laptop, similar to setting up a vpn. When i returned to my home, i hooked up xbox 360 to my laptop how i had had it before, my xbox live wouldn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this? Step-by-step answers wpuld help. And i use wireless internet on my laptop and cannot hook my 360 directly to the modem because it is about 150 feet away.

It's really difficult without seeing your laptop.

As long as you haven't deleted any of your settings, try deleteing the Hotel configuration completely.

Okay, in short my xbox is in one place but my computer and modem are in the other. I need to connect to Xbox live. I have and adapter but its not strong enough to reach the signal from my wireless router. I cant move my xbox to my computer room but I do have a laptop that gets the signal fine that i can have in my room. How can i make Xbox live happen?

just hook up the ethernet cable from your 360 to to your laptop. Once you do that, on your laptop, go to control panel, then network and internet connections, then network connections, right click on your internet connection, go to properties, then advance and check the box that says "allow other users to connect..."

Basically enable the internet on your laptop to share its connection

I am planning on getting xbox live for my xbox 360, but I do not have a router and my DSL modem only has one ethernet input. Can I interchange the internet and xbox cables whenever I want to use either one without connectivity problems with either device?

It should be fine. You will have to set up your internet connection on the X-box anyways in order to get your x-box online. :-) Once that is set up is finished you should be able to unplug the cat5 cable coming from your modem and plug it either into your computer or your x-box. There also should also be no problem when switching it back and forth. Of course you will have to decide what you want more the computer to be online or your x-box. I would suggest just buying a router and another cat5 cable. There relatively cheap.
