Could someone please tell me the difference between them...
Bought and an XBox 360 few days ago and it said that it has an silver account included! But can I play games like Halo 3 and Gear of War on an silver account online? Thats the thing I want to do ask and also what are the differences between them...(Heard that Gold account costs 50 Dollars a year)
I appreciate every answer given
Thanks

For online Multiplayer games, you will need a Gold account.

If you sign online for the first time with your new console, you will get a trial Gold membership for a month for free, so you can try the service.

Yes, the Gold service costs money. Depending on where you buy the membership, the prices vary.

If you buy the membership directly in the console with your credit card, 12 months will cost $60.

If you go into "brick and mortar" stores, or buy a prepaid Live Gold card online, you can even get a 12+1 month card for about $40-$50.

Additionally, Gold members get the "Deal of the Week". This means, that active Gold Members can buy a selcted Live Marketplace download for a discounted price.

Depending on what is on sale, you can save 30% to 55% depending on what's on sale currently (for example, a few weeks ago, you could buy the original Xbox game Fable 1 for 800 points ($10) instead of 1200 points. A 33% savings.

Gold members also get access to exclusive demos earlier. Or access to special events (for example here in Germany, Gold members could visit the Games Convention (one of the three largest game venues like Tokyo Game Show and E3) for free, get access to the Xbox Backstage Area, grab a free drink and get a coupon for a free movie download.

So, yes, a Gold membership costs money (approx $3,50 a month, depending on which prepaid card you bought), but it's worth it.

These are the benefits of a gold account.
With a Silver account, you can still do anything online, like chatting to your friends, getting stuff from the marketplace, and so on.
You can't however play online multiplayer matches, and you don't get special discounts.

How can I share my xbox live gold account with my wife's profile on the same xbox.?
Star Wars console and white Kinect sensor

I have an xbox gold account and have my profile hooked in to it so I can go on line. I have a profile for my wife on the same machine but I some how can not find how to have her profile get on line. Do we have to have 2 gold memberships to use the same xbox?

you can't share your gold membership. So, if your gamertag was "husband" you pay for XBOX live gold so that "husband" can get online and play. There are ways she can get online. she can either: be your guest - or - play online on "husband" gamertag account when you aren't playing -or- she has to get her own gold membership for "wife" (her fake gamertag)

when you pay for gold membership - youre paying for your gametag to play online, nothing else

With an Xbox Gold membership can you watch tv shows for free?
Star Wars console - R2-D2 is proud

I'm thinking about getting an XBox gold membership. Can you watch the tv shows for free or receive a discount? Thanks.

No, you pay once... then pay again... and again and again.

You might get a free show once a year or something.... but that's it.

How can I get xbox gold membership?
Star Wars gold C3PO Xbox controller

Microsoft does not accept Sri Lankan Credit Card and in Xbox no Sri Lanka, I have Sri Lanka Credit Card. Now I need to become a gold member to play game with friends, can you please help me, how to get gold membership?

I'm not Sri Lankan but you'd probably have to check you can actually get it there, then look around at EB games and game traders and other electronic stores, if it sells and xbox, it'll usually sell xbox live, then if you can't find it or don't wanna leave the house, try to buy one on eBay, but be careful, lots of people on there are thief's so check their rep and stuff before buying, you could probably order one with pay pal or something on their site...

  • Halo Waypoint Coming November 5 for Xbox Gold and Silver Subscribers

It is always good to maintain a record of your gaming database and it feels all the more better if that database gets automatically updated. As far as the Halo games on the Xbox are concerned, such a privilege of accessing automatic databases alongwith tracking your gaming progress and achievements is possible using the Halo Waypoint Tool. Microsoft has been talking about the special surprise and the gaming fanatics are guessing that the Halo Waypoint availability could be that big surprise.

All this information makes sense only if you are a Halo Games admirer for otherwise the big surprise is pointless for you. Also, this ‘tool’ is limited to the Xbox gaming console so just in case you play Halo games on other consoles, it is pointless for your to know all this.
