Xbox Driver

I need a driver to use my xbox(not xbox 360, the original xbox) controller on a windows vista laptop.
I've found a ton of drivers for xbox 360 controllers, but none for the original.
I've looked on the microsoft website.

All right so last time I tried to install my 360 wireless controller the device was not resolved (or something like that) but today I plugged it into my laptop to charge my controller and and it installed the driver:
"Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit"
Why would it even see a device if all that goes through the controller's usb input is power?

That is because the controller actually does transfer data, but not the way that one would expect.

The wireless controllers only work wirelessly, as wired/wireless comm would take a much more complicated circuit to work properly. Even so, the wireless controller does detect when the play and charge kit is connected and sends out a signal to the 360/PC connected to it. All the controller uses this for is to tell the device that the controller is there, and does not use it for gaming communication. It also works backwards for small data transfers, allowing the 360 to send a signal to the controller when powered on to shut the controller off. I think the 360 also has the ability to turn the controller off by the wire.

If there was no data stream, the computer would not even recognize a device was on the wire, it would just send power to it. That way, you wouldn't even see the 'unknown device' message.

And dont tell me "just plug it in and windows will download it automatically- (it wont.)
Also dont tell me to use a program mapper because you don;t need one.
And finally i already tried the xbox 360 controller driver from microsoft.

You can find it at controller drivers at microsoft i've heard. Though i know you dont want to hear it its just simpiler to download xpadder and set check youtube for a tutorial on how to set up the buttons. Thats what i did..everythings fine for me.

I bought a new toshiba ts-h943 driver for my xbox 360 which now has the original hitachi driver in it. I pulled both apart, but the chip that I was going to move out of the hitachi does not fit in the new toshiba driver. Can I make this fit, or will it even work.

you do know that no one is goinng to answer this quesiton, but if your 360 chip is broken you shouldnt try fixing it you should send it in to microsoft 1-800-4MY-XBOX

If I trade in like 5 or 6 games into Game or Game-station and an Xbox steering wheel fully functional and all perfect condition, how much do you think they'd all be worth?
I'm trying to save up for a Macbook.

It might be better to sell them in classifieds (kijiji, newspaper, etc.) trade in shops give you really low rates so I'd probably say maybe $5-15 per game (I know its horrible) + the steering wheel I'd say you'd be lucky to get $100 maybe $150
