Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor

I have the old xbox network adaptor but my signal strength isn't as good as it could be. Would getting the new adaptor for the 360 help get a little better signal?

I was using an old wireless B device to connect my 360 to my network. I upgraded to the microsoft branded unit for the 360 and i connect better, but also the microsoft branded unit uses wireless A/B/G. My router will detect wireless G wich is much better than the old B device I was using, so I experienced a signal increase. The old network adapter is wireless G also, so I doubt that you would get any better signal with it unless you have a really old router.

Im thinking of getting a wireless network adaptor for xbox live. But, the source is far away. So i was thinking of just using a usb extension and just moving the adaptor closer. It should work, but im just making sure.

Well I've never tried that but yeah i think it should work its just extending it right? Bu tit sort of kills th ewhole point of the adapter~if u want a wireless that means wireLESS adding the extender kinda defeats the purpose of it!

Well...rightn ow to play on live i have to sit on my moms office floor to hook up to a router. I am thinkin of buying a wireless network adaptor. Do i need some kind of special router or something? or can the one plugged into my wall work? yes i do have high speed internet.

As long as you have a router, you can plug into the Internet no matter how far apart the xbox and router are. If you use that wireless adapter, then yes you need a wireless router or a wireless access point.

The thing that many people don't understand is you don't have to go wireless. If you have a device like a black berry that you want to connect to the Internet, then wireless makes sense. For a stationary device like an xbox and most laptops, you can go with powerline. Plus powerline does not have the security problems that wireless has as long as you live in a house and it's not a town house where you're sharing it with strangers.

Have just brought the XBox 360 60gb for my son, I have wireless connection at the main computer that works with his PS3, do I need a Network Adaptor for the XBox or will my wireless work with it?
