Xbox 360 Wired Controller

I need to know if you can mod a wired xbox 360 controller so it will go rapid fire on cod4. PLEASE HELP!!

When I plug my wired 360 controller in, the green lights in the middle of the controller flash and keep flashing but they don't settle to the player two position (I already have one wireless controller synced up) and the player two light on the actual console doesn't light up. I don't usually use the xbox (it's my brother's), so this may be a stupid question, but can somebody please help? Thanks!

Check that it's securely in there. Also wiggle or reconnect the inline release. (That little dongle thing that supposed to disconnect if you trip over the cord)

Try swapping the inline release with another one.

Examine all the cords for cuts or tearing.

Test it in all the USB ports, even the ones on the back.

Try the wired as 1st player.

Final: Check that the game is 2 player.

Final final: Contact MS support, they might service the xbox or give you a new inline release if you're nice.

Hi, I recently bought a Microsoft Wired xbox 360 controller and occasionally it will fire, throw a grenade and the aim will hop around a bit on its own. I am completely clueless. my friend had the same problem and seems to think it was the xbox. someone please help, it is rather annoying to uncontrollably waste your grenades and ammo.

Honestly, the best thing to do here, is to return it to the store, explain what happened, and hopefully they will replace it, no charge. However, if they won't because they're d*****bags, then go buy another one, somewhere else, since the problem could be just part of the store (who knows).

Its definitely not the Xbox, as I've never heard of that happening with other controllers. So it probably is your controller, sticking the keys internally or something.

Try also buying a wireless controller and 2 rechargeable batteries, and a charger, it may be a problem with wired controllers if your friend had the same issue as well.

i absolutely hate the controls for some of my pc games and i was wondering if it is possible to connect a wired xbox 360 controller to my games via the usb port because it fits in but will it connect to my games

Yea it is. I have a mad catz gamestop wired controller as my mouse [I use xpadder] right now im looking for the soft ware to connect mine on this computer

Yes i have a wired controller (Joytech) and im using an xbox 360
can you give me a method i can play games using it.I tried using a download for the driver part but it didn't work as planned.I've seen people using it to play some games online.I just want it to atleast get the green light in the middle on.

After downloading and installing xpadder, open it up and press the small box with a picture of a controller, which should give you a drop down box of options, and click on "new". First, download a picture of a 360 controller from here....

And then click on the "image" tab and click "open" and find your 360 controller picture.

Then, click on the "sticks" tab to calibrate your analog sticks and check the enable box and you will be prompted to press the stick up and then to the left to calibrate. next, click on the "d-pad" tab and check the enable box again and calibrate that. Then, click on the "buttons" tab and proceed to press every button on your controller, one by one, and after each time you press a button, a outline of a box will come up on the picture of your controller, so drag the outline over where the button is. Do this for every button on the controller except for the two triggers, for that is next. Click the "triggers" tab and click "enable" again for these. Then go to "finish" and close out of the pop-up window, this should leave you with just the xpadder program open. Now, for each button, and analog stick direction, you need to assign a keyboard key or mouse click to. So, since in games the letters "w, a, s, d" are used for movement, map the "w" to the left analog stick going up, the "a" for the left analog stick going left, and so on. Assign the right analog stick to "mouse move up" for the analog stick up and so on. After assigning your controller buttons each a different key on the keyboard you are done, and, after assigning your right analog stick the mouse controls, you should be able to use your controller to control your mouse. If it isn't working, then go into the settings of xpadder by clicking on the wrench and then checking every box with a check mark. Now, you should be able to use your controller with every pc game.


Now, with any Games for Windows certified game, your 360 wired controller will automatically work for these games, such as halo 2 or bioshock, your computer should automatically download the drivers for this to work the first time you hook up your 360 wired controller.
