Xbox 360 Red Ring

I have an original Xbox. I was told you can buy the replacement part on Ebay for the red ring flashing. When I go to Ebay it only shows Xbox 360 when I do a search. I want to know if I buy this part, will it work in my regular Xbox.

I do not think so however I do believe if you still have the box you can return it and get it fixed.

Alright before you call me a moron or anything like that, understand my xbox is not playing any games videos or cds. Xbox has told me they wont replace it. So I need to make my xbox red ring before the warranty runs out. Any ideas?

alright this is what you do, put in in a place that has little ventilation (so like a tight area), or even next to a heater perhaps. Now play a game that takes up alot of processing power (like a first person shooter). Your system will be dead in no time.

I have searched the internet trying to find a guide that can help me solve the red ring of death, but most of the repair guides I have found did not help one bit. I seen the youtube video on the little trick were they wrap the towel around the xbox 360- does that really work? because it doesn't make sense to me - how can wrapping a towel around your xbox 360 help fix the red ring of death? what do you guys think should I try it or not?

When you say red ring of death I will guess that you are talking about the three lights because that is what most people refer to as the red ring of death. As far a I know you could damage your xbox 360 for good if you do the towel trick. I did some research for you and I did find a site that does some xbox 360 repair guide reviews. I would recommend that no one try's those repairs that are on youtube. So I guess visit the source and let me know how it went.

I went to play my xbox 360 and knocked it on and it wouldnt work. i looked at it and saw the red ring of death. I unplugged it and it was still there. My friends say i have to send it away for a replacement. Is there any other way i can fix it?

You can fix it yourself. You will need a few household tools and a red ring of death repair guide.

I got my Xbox 360 in December of 2007. I only play on the weekends (except during the summer) and when I play, I play for only an hour and then I let it rest. I usually do not start playing again until 30 minutes or more of letting it cool down. With this playing schedule, is there a chance that I will get the infamous Red Ring of Death?

it happend to my husband and he was pissed!!! :) but he sent it back and they gave him a ful refund (he got a new xbox) if it happens its not good, but it doesnt happen often. BUT they are really cool art xbox and will usually refund you
