I would like to compare the games. So i know I make the right choice with the console i buy.

PS3 has not been out as long but it still has just as good of a lineup right now but in 2009 PS3 has a clear cut better lineup of games.

First, Final Fantasy XIII is now multiplatform. Then Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, the series of which was always a Sony exclusive, is now an Xbox 360 exclusive. What are everyone's thoughts on why this is happening?

Because while Sony is huge in Japan, Microsoft has the numbers in the U.S. right now, and Square Enix knows it. FXIII isn't going to be a true multi-platform... they're only releasing it on 360 in North America. Last Remnant is a huge project as well, and it will be on PS3 and 360.

At the end of the day, it's about selling games... and in the western market (i.e. the U.S.), the 360 has an equal foothold to the PS3 at the moment. That's not the case in Japan, which is the region Square Enix previously focused most heavily on. Now they're really starting to hammer the overseas market, so they're adjusting their strategy accordingly.

Selling games trumps loyalty to a single platform every time.

I'm not Halo fan and I'm ready to finally play some PS3 exclusives like Metal Gear 4, Resistance, and God of War 3 (can't wait for this game). Are there any reasons to hold on to my 360 especially considering I'd be getting a blu-ray player, built in wifi, and multiplatform games like Modern Warfare 2.

from an exclusives standpoint, I would say there is no reason to stick with the 360. The only downside to the ps3 is the multiplayer community. Xbox Live is the best service available. If your not interested in online multiplayer, or would like to try something new, I would suggest getting the ps3.

I personally own a PS3 and like the variety. But xbox exclusives always seem to get higher metacritic scores.

PS3 exclusives are superior in my opinion, you have a massive amount of variety, unlike on the 360 where for the most part you have space marine shooters. The only thing I'm jealous of on the 360 is Alan Wake, and even that like most 360 games in coming to PC. With the PC version being superior.

I'm not being a fanboy though, just telling it like it is.
