I have bought the Xbox 360 Arcade, I really don't know the difference between them all except the Elite has a bigger hard drive and is black lol!
What I am wondering is what is the difference between the different Xbox 360 consoles apart from the price?
My son is the gamer not me and he seems happy with it, we only want it for playing games not really bothered about HD or Xbox live. Can't you just tell I am thick at all things like this! Don't answer THAT!
Arcade: Comes with 256MB memory card, disc of Xbox Live Arcade games and demos, 1 wireless controller, NO HARD DRIVE.
Premium: Comes with 20GB memory card, 1 controller, 2 Xbox games (Forza, Marvel Alliance). Also includes component video cable.
Elite: (seems to be out of stock right now) Comes with 120GB hard drive, 1 controller, 2 Xbox games (same as Premium). Also includes 1 component video cable, and HDMI cable.
The biggest difference between them is the hard drive. However, even the Arcade model can any 360 game and go online like the Premium or Elite. That said, I would try to get the Premium if possible. The price difference is much less than if you were to buy the 20GB hard drive and component video cable separately. Whether you need the larger drive of the Elite will depend solely on whether you see yourself downloading a lot of games or movies from the market place. You can buy the 120GB hard drive separately, and it is possible to transfer your data from drive to drive, so that's always an option. In addition, if you want to be able to download additional content for games - such as extra songs for Guitar Hero, or maps for COD4 - you will need the hard drive.
As for the video cable, that will depend on your TV. If you have a HDTV, you will definitely want to use the 360's Component Cable Kit, or a HDMI cable. The standard AV cable and the S-Video cable do not support HD resolutions. This is another reason why the Premium is a better buy over all than the Arcade model.
As for me, I received a 360 Arcade for Christmas, and bought a used 20GB hard drive from Gamestop for $50. Since my TV has a HDMI port, I didn't need the component cable that would have come with the Premium model anyways.
Hello, Today I am going to be unboxing a Xbox 360 4GB Slim Console. The Xbox 360 console in this video is the newest of the Xbox 360 console's ...
I have tried to connect 2 xbox 360 consoles through my router to get on Xbox live, but only one of them can get on. The other one has its DNS test fail on me even though the IP test passes. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?
In terms of using a router, this is absolutely possible. Make SURE that you are using a router indeed though. Routers and switches physically can look almost identical but the underlying layers in the operations that each perform are much different. A router should be transparent to your ISP and if you have NAT (Network Address Translation) turned on, it should issue 192.168.x.x IP addresses to your Xbox 360. Now if you have NAT turned off, both Xbox 360s will attempt to go to your ISP and register an IP address over the one connection. This will deny one or the other of a connection unless your ISP has issued you more than one IP address which usually costs about 5 dollars extra a month. If you really have a router, double check to make sure NAT is turned - along with DHCP on and then setup your Xbox 360s to automatically obtain an IP address from your router. Usually the routers should be configured to do this out of the box like linksys or netgear. Also double check your cables to make sure that you have your internet connection from your modem to the router plugged into the WAN port and that the Xbox 360s are on one of the LAN or Local Area Network ports. I currently have 2 Xbox 360s, 2 PCs and a laptop connected to the internet simultaneously through my router with no problems. Just think of your router as a splitter. Make sure that on the Xbox 360 that you are failing at the DNS level that the setting for your DNS server are identical to that of the console that is able to connect. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Plus, with built-in Wi-Fi, it's easy to access tons of great entertainment on Xbox LIVE - from HD movies and TV shows to live sports.
The spacious 250GB hard drive gives you the space you need to store arcade games, movies, demos, and even full Xbox 360 games.
With the largest portfolio of games to choose from, there's something for everyone - from classic titles to the biggest blockbuster games.
I'm considering purchasing an Xbox 360 Elite, but I want to know if any of the newer consoles have a chance of ending up with the Red Ring of Death.
By newer I mean built within the past few months.
just keep youre 360 in a cool area, make sure the fans in the back arent blocked by cables. and it has space to BREATHE and you will be fine. yes the 65nm does reduce the risk!
I dont wanna go to jail or anything.
I see people selling them on modchip websites like modchips.ca and some others, but those arent in the USA.
Is it legal to sell modified Xbox 360 consoles on eBay?
I can tell you what I know of it from my husband's ventures to by a modded xbox 360 off of ebay...
Ebay doens't allow the sale of modded xboxes. They remove the auctions before they get a chance to finish. However, you can still put one up and if it stays up long enough to generate some traffic you just might get an outside offer (off of the site) for it when the auction is closed.
Hi,
I want to but my brother an Xbox 360 console for christmas and all the deals ive found have confused me loads. Can anybody tell me what the difference between Xbox Premium and Xbox Pro consoles is? and is it worth getting one of them rather than just the Arcade version??
Help please?!
Thanx
The Premium, also called the Elite is most expensive and has a 120GB Hard Drive.
The Pro, being the mid-priced one has a 60GB hard drive.
The Arcade being the least expensive, has no hard drive, only a 256MB memory card.
Read more details and compare each cosnole here. Scroll down below the pic of the console, and there's a chart comparing them.

If he will be getting an Xbox Live Gold membership, allowing him to play on-line with friends, then you want at least a 60GB hard-drive, for all the cool stuff you can down load from the Marketplace. This is done by buying a microsoft points card at any retailer that sells xbox 360's.
But the Silver Membership is free, but you can't do as much stuff. Each console comes with One Month Free for the Gold membership.

XBOX 360 to get Blu-ray Drives !! - TechEnclave
The absence of the blu-ray drive in Xbox 360 is one of the major factors differentiating it from Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console. In an interview with Gizmodo, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer spilled beans on the same stating Xbox 360 owners would be availed Blu-ray drives as an accessory for the system. Rumors that Xbox 360 will get Blu-ray support were earlier dumped but now, the information comes directly from the chief's mouth! Sony PlayStation 3 scores over Microsoft's Xbox 360 with built-in Blu-ray, Bluetooth and WiFi support. Xbox 360 owners need to purchase accessories separately to get those features. Ballmer told Gizmodo in an interview, "Well, I don't know if we need to put Blu-ray...
