Please do not listen to anyone that says monster cable will dramatically improve your picture. It will not. People will justify the money they spent on monster cables when they use them because otherwise they would feel bad about the money they spent(this is subconscious)

The Microsoft cable is quite well constructed and has the option of connecting a optical cable should you need that in the future. Stick with it and save the money.

If you want to see what I am talking about, follow my reference and do a search for Monster cables. Keep in mind these people do home theater for a living and still buy cables from monoprice.com or bluejeanscable.com

To the person below me: Component cables are not digital cables and do not transmit a digital signal. Also the Microsoft component cable comes with an optical port on it so you can still get 5.1 from it.

Just bought a Xbox 360...it came with a Component HD cable sort of thing...regular blue,red,green cables with extra yellow,white and red for audio..is that better than HDMI? coz graphics and sound is pretty good on the component and running on 1080p on my LCD...can this get any better on an HDMI cable?

No. You will *not* see any difference between HDMI and the blue red green component cable.

The only advantage of a HDMI cable over Component is, that it is a single cable that also carries sound.

But image quality is completely the same.

i got 1080p lcd sharp and im planning to buy the HD AV Component Cable for PS2 PS3 Wii XBOX 360 and i dont know if it would upscale it to 1080p. if i bought this hd av component cable will the ps2, wii will turn to HD?

no way. becasue the ps2 or xbox or wii were not built to be HD, so if you want HD then buy an xbox 360 or ps3 (my choice is the 360) and no it is not because of software.
