Xbox 360 Compatibility

alot of those games have problems the backwards compatibility is so poor that an original xbox is still required
wii and ps3 are fully backwards why not xbox 360
i wanted my xbox 360 to be an xbox replacement not xbox next to xbox 360

Are you connected to live? If your not you didn't receive any updates then because through the years they add more and more titles that work from the original xbox. My friend had the same problem with his so I connected him up to xbox live and it download the new updates so they could play all of there old games. Xbox will let you connect for free through a silver membership you just want be able to play against other people online unless you want to upgrade to gold. Also the ps3 is not fully backwards compatibly because only certain ps3's will play the older games.

Hey guys. So basically whenever I put the backwards compatibility disc (update put on blank disc) in my 360, it always says its a mixed media disc and wont update. I figured it updated it but when i tried to play scarface on my 360, it said it wasn't compatible because it was an original xbox game. The game is compatible with the update though. Any ideas guys?

Hi when you download the file from the xbox site you actually need to unzip the file before you burn it to a dvd. Burn the file using a dvd data disc or using windows * u can make a dvd data disc with programs like nero or something similar.

I put an original xbox game into my 360. It told me I needed to install an update so I did but a few seconds after it starts it says that the update cannot be downloaded and to test my connection but I know my connection is fine because I can play my normal 360 games online. How do I install the update?

u can use ur computer to install it to a disk (xbox website) or request a disk from microsoft

Okay so like I traded in GTA San Andreas when I got my 360 because around that time my Xbox crashed. So anyway I looked on Xbox Magazines website and on Microsoft's site and several other sources have all told me that it is backwards compatible. But do I need a plug-in (an Xbox Live Update) to play it on my 360? Like if I buy the normal Xbox copy?

Yeah it can be, you'll most liekly need the most recvenbt updates to your Xbox, so it;ll be best to connect to Live and then put the GTA San Andreas disc in so it can download anything it needs.

I want to order the disk for Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility software from Microsoft. On the xbox website it says I will be charged a fee for the disk and shipping and handling but when I click on order it says cost is $0.00 is it free or not? will I be billed later?

It is definitely free - I have it. I downloaded it off the internet and then burned it onto a disc myself - worked fine.
