I used to have a PS2 and loved the game Need for Speed Most Wanted because of how free roaming the game was. It's quite hard to get for the Xbox 360 now, are there any racing games that let you roam around like it, without being set to a racetrack?
I bought NFS: ProStreet but it focuses more on racetrack than street racing.
Or should I just go for Most Wanted because nothing else can compare to it?
Burnout Paradise has free roaming.

I was told about an update my friend got so he could play Need for speed most wanted (Xbox) on an Xbox 360, I just want to know if that's true??
I'm guessing the game is considered Backwards Compatible then. You need to be able to go online, and have a hard drive. I think from there you just put the game in and it would automatically download the software for the emulator and you could play the game. It doesn't cost anything.

Because I have a credit thing they use instead of my actual money for a game i returned and their rubbish website wouldn't tell me anything about prices

Is there a need for speed most wanted for xbox 360?
Of course!!! i think that was first need for speed that came out for the 360. that game blows out the ps2 and pc versions. must get but if you were me id get the new one that game is almost just like most wanted but it is about 50 times better.
Is the story line different? Are there any huge changes made?
Story line wise it's the same. Graphically you'll see a big difference as next gen consoles support better graphics that the PS2 can't. Also I don't know how good the PS2's online gaming is (really don't know if the PS2 servers are up), but PS2 online is NOTHING compared to that of the 360. The 360 also have achievements which are like challenges which are good because it adds depth and more playing time to the game.
