I'm wondering if I should get an xBox 360 Elite edition for Christmas this year, but I'm not sure if it's worth it if I already have a decent computer that plays most of the xBox 360 games. Here are my computer stats:
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600
CPU Speed: 2.85 GHz
System RAM: 2.0 GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x9490)
Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 64-bit (Build Service Pack 16001)
What do you think I should do? Should I get the xBox 360 for Christmas or get something else?
i would get an xbox 360 becuase dells get slow after a while and when newer games come out that you want they won't work on your computer becuase there to new.
Price: $49.99
Does not include separate audio cable
Plenty of room with the 6.5 foot long shielded cable
Get high-definition video and audio in one cable
Elite, Pro, or Arcade?
My Xbox 360 Pro just got RROD. I'm going to buy a new 360 because I don't want to wait for Microsoft to send me a refurbished one. Since I already have all of the cords, accessories and the HDD from the PRO should I just buy an Arcade. I want to just add the HDD to the Arcade if that is possible, and want to play in High Definition. Is this possible on the Arcade? If so, which type of console should I buy?
Definately get the arcade. Slap on the hard drive from your old console and you are DONE. It's the simple, you will be gaming in no time.
All the consoles do HD now, they all come with HDMI ports.
Store multiple game saves and play top-selling original Xbox products
Xbox Live Marketplace offers a wide variety of video content from gaming and movie trailers to television programs and HD movie rentals
Save music and create custom playlists
I'm doing an essay on why i think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever an it will be entered in a contest and if you win you get an 8 GB itouch and it needs to be 400 or lower words and my computer doesn't have a word count so can you copy and paste it on a document and tell me how many words it is. P.S. Im only in 5th grade so it might sound bad. and can you also tell me if its good or not. Here's my essay
I think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever. The xbox 360 is a video game console assembled by Microsoft. As of January 14, 2009 worldwide, the 360 has sold over 27 million copies. Its first retail availability date in United States, Mexico, and Canada was November 22, 2005. On December 2, 2005 it was lunched in Europe. 8 days later it launched in Japan.
One reason why I think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever is it attachment, xbox live. With xbox live you can play online with anyone in the world. So you could be playing in the United States and play against a man in Canada. Also with xbox live you can go to the xbox live marketplace and download game demos, game trailers, movies, music, or television shows all in high definition. Or you can put in a DVD and watch that on the xbox 360.
My second why I think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever is that there are many kinds of xbox 360s with all different features. There are 4 types of a 360. They are the xbox 360 core, xbox 360 arcade, xbox 360 pro, and the xbox 360 elite. Today, the xbox 360 core isn’t available to buy because it was bundled up with loads of cables and wires and no one wanted to deal with setting it up so it didn’t sell and was later overtaken by the xbox 360 arcade. The xbox 360 pro and elite both include 2 wireless controllers, a headset that you can use to talk to people on xbox live, high definition audio and video, 1 free gold trial of xbox live, and both play original xbox games. The core and arcade can’t.
My third and last reason why I think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever is that the graphics looks real. They are so amazing. When your playing a game like Madden 09 it looks like you are watching the game in real life in HD.
Hence, I think the xbox 360 is the greatest invention ever because of xbox live, the kinds and features of the 4 types of the 360, and the high definition graphics. The xbox 360 is an awesome invention.
It totals to 378 words.
It sound pretty good for a 5th grade essay! I hope you win the iPod (:
I got a 360 Elite with one add-on only(Wi-Fi adapter). I could afford the bundle altogether plus the other add-ons are sort of an inconvenience to me. I got a 360 Elite because:
-black finish
-Fable 1 and 2(I really want to play TLC).
-a few Xbox games(excluding Halo)
-a likely, yet very unlikely KOTOR release.
-I wanted Ninja Gaiden II but PS3 is getting a much better port of it.
-arcade games.
The 360 had a lot of potential but it is almost gone because Microsoft was desperate to beat Sony and buy their gaming division so they could monopolize it and not let the user have the benefit of using generic accessories (more on it later). There are some benefits the 360 has over the PS3 and sometimes it is the other way around. What people don't realize in most cases is that Microsoft is trying to sell the 360 at $199 because anybody can afford it and then they charge top dollar for proprietary accessories. For example:
-Hard drive
-memory card
-Xbox 360 HDMI cable works the best with the 360.
-Wi-Fi adapter
-can't use external hard drive to backup data.
-Xbox Live camera.
-wired and wireless headset
-proprietary external power brick that can only be distributed by them
-Play and Charge kit is not miniUSB-to-USB
Here are a few dirty business practices that they use while trying to monopolize gaming:
-pay third-party developers lots of money to make games exclusive.
-overcharge
-Bribe the media to say bad things about their competitor.
The list goes on and on and that is how most businesses work.
Microsoft should realize that if they can make games of their own, and they have substance to most people, they would sell more.
Now on hardware...
-They had shrunken the size of the system to cut cost and add cheap hardware.
-The power supply is external. WHAT!
-The reason that the system scratches disc is because they did not put the mechanism to protect the disc in order to cut costs.
-Can the red ring of death be fixed despite the the hardware being crammed not to allow proper ventilation? How can they let the GPU breath if the optical drive is above it?
-GPU may be more powerful but not enough processing power to incorporate more and lack of space on DVD doesn't allow more detail.
It is funny how people still buy the system despite not looking at the value of add-ons that will prove to be beneficial in the future. Almost half of them have been blindly loyal to Microsoft for what they have done and in some way I commend them. I also have a feeling that people can afford a PS3 but they use that extra money for things like booze, other material possessions, and they still complain that PS3 is expensive despite the money that most of the people earn in a year is more than enough to buy a PS3.
I got my PS3 first and people are saying this:
-"Dude, sell your PS3 and keep your 360."
-"PS3 is for losers so that makes you a loser."
-"PS3 has copied everything on the 360."
-"It is a waste of money."
Well, on the contrary...
-allows use of generic accessories such as USB cables, USB 2.0 cameras, any Bluetooth or USB headset, support for other Bluetooth devices, supports USB drive for Infrared, any HDMI cable works well, can use any AC power cord, supports generic flash cards formats SecureDigital, Memory Stick, Microdrive, and CompactFlash.
-Wi-Fi built-in
-great first-party lineup such as Killzone 2, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, God of War III, Resistance, and many others.
-third-party games include MGS 4 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
-controllers use eco-friendly, recyclable, longer-lasting Lithium ion battery.
-it can also be charged through the system.
-PSN is free but still a kilometer to 2 km away.
-GPU may not be as powerful but the Cell makes up for all of those losses. Developers will get used to it.
-Blu-Ray Disc which many people say is not needed but high-definition video and audio will not fit in too well with a dual-layer DVD.
-technology is moving fast.
-many other things...
I'm not trying to bluff but how do people get this impression that the 360 can do anything the PS3 is capable of?
You hit the xbox pretty good. But what about the flaws of the PS3?
I have a xbox 360 and basically bought all of the accesories and I feel it's stll worth it because the gamers on the 360 are more competitive on games such as Halo 3 and the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games.
Although I have to pay an annual fee of $50.00 per year for xbox live, I still think it's worth it because the games are much better as of right now. Besides, more people have the 360.
I already have a Blu-Ray anyways on all three of my HDTV's. Money's not an issue for us. My dad makes loads of money.
