I got a secondhand copy of this game without the guide, and searching Google only gave me random reviews and stuff completely different from what I was looking for. I know for the PS3 you press the punch button to catch missiles, but when I try this for the 360 it just blows them up in front of me. So firstly, can you catch missiles on the 360 version, and if so, how?

Yes you can. I just played this game yesterday at a friend's house. It takes a bit of practice though.
Just as the missile is in front/ below you, hit B, Iron Man will throw the missile in the direction that you are aiming at.
Just practice it, hitting B when the missile is at different distances to get used to it.

how do i get the achievement "long shot"?

first of all, wats a howitzer and how do i kill an enemy with it?
it doesn't work, it just lets me keep pressing B to separate the top from the bottom...

This can be accomplished as early as the Maggia Factories mission. Locate a Howitzer (tank) on the ground near any of the base structures, land on the ground and grapple it by holding B. You're then able to aim the tank's cannon and fire off a shot before it's destroyed. While you have it grappled, just make sure to aim at another enemy and then pull the right trigger.

Need Help! How do you defeat the iron man on level 3 (on the XBOX 360)...I am really stuck!!!!! NEED YOUR HELP!

floating is your best friend. You need to float up and down constantly moving from side to side, tapping the lock on to kill all the enemies. Is this the level where you try to stop the nuclear launch or the ship with the submarine surfacing and attacking? the same strategy works for all the levels ( up to titanium man ).
