How do you use the workout mode on DDR/Dance Dance Revolution XBOX Ultramix 4 version?
Funk Soul Brother

I have DDR ULTRAMIX 4 Version for XBOX and i filled out my weight and name and everything but it says im not signed in, what do i do?

On the "workout switch" option, turn that to "on". Now you can play any mode and it will count the calories burned. You can tell it is on because there will be a little heart by the your name. It will tell you how many calories burned on the score screen.

Would you recommend Dance Dance Revolution on Xbox?
DDRthumb_202

You can also recomend other types of dance games that are not neceserally called Dance Dance Revolution. I only have an Xbox though.

Dance Dance Revolution has been more popular on Playstation 2 than X-Box since most PS2 games have a more arcade feel. However X-Box versions (each of them called Ultramix) have unique features that make them stand out. Each Ultramix version have downloadable song packs for the X-Box. You can even use the downloaded song packs from Ultramix 1 into the newer games like Ultramix 3. Ultramix 4 (coming this November) will feature "party mix" nonstop courses simular to the nonstop megamix courses found in Dance Dance Revolution Solo 2000 (a japanese ddr arcade that features 6 panels instead of 4). Officially, there are only the four DDR Ultramix versions for X-Box. All other dance games are more commonly found on personal computer or Playstation 2.

Full list of U.S. DDR Games
Dance Dance Revolution (1998 Playstation): Contains songs from Dance Dance Revolution 1st Mix through 3rd Mix. Nonstop mode, and beginners mode included.
Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix (1999 Playstation): Contains exclusive Disney tunes like Its a Small World and Mickey Mouse March. Also has new tunes from DDR 4th and 5th mixes.
Dance Dance Revolution Konamix (2000 Playstation) Contains all new songs from Dance Dance Revolution 4th mix and 5th mix and includes an Edit mode which you can import certain song stepcharts you create into future DDR versions.
DDRMAX (2002 Playstation 2) All new DDR version with over 70 different songs featuring songs primarly from DDR 5th Mix and the japanese arcade version of DDRMAX including the aggressively hard MAX 300 by Omega. Also features the all new Oni Nonstop Challenge courses which requires expert skills to conquer.
DDRMAX2 (2003 Playstation 2) Features over 70 new songs including remixed songs from Nonstop Megamix (they only have one difficulty level that's pretty tough to play) and the return of the original Nonstop mode. Also introduced Endless mode allowing players to play well endlessly.
DDR Extreme (2004 Playstation 2) Has over 70 new songs and has both Challenge and Nonstop modes. It also has a optional mission mode challenging even the most skilled DDR players.
DDR Extreme 2 (2005 Playstation 2) Features a new Dance Master mode which allows players to unlock the different songs in the game and challenge players to new challenges. Featured all new songs never before seen and new advance modes Survival Endless and Combo Challenge Endless modes.
DDR SuperNOVA (2006 Playstation 2) This is the latest version of the arcade in both the US and Japan and this console version has a Stellar Master mode which works simular to Dance Master mode from Extreme 2. It features entirely all new songs in the Playstation series (some songs have already appeared in X-Box versions though.) And new songs exclusive to the console version. Its tough that is for sure but you can do it. It is the version currently featuring online play for Playstation 2.
DDR Ultramix (2003 X-Box) Contains over 60 new songs and 6 downloadable song packs from X-Box live.
DDR Ultramix 2 (2004 X-Box) Contains over 60 new songs and 6 all new song packs and is compatible with past song packs from Ultramix.
DDR Ultramix 3 (2005 X-Box) New music and new additional song packs. But also with a Dance Master mode like Extreme 2.
DDR Ultramix 4 (November 2006 X-Box) Coming soon!
DDR Universe (X-Box 360) also coming soon!

Other dance games available
In The Groove (Playstation 2) The hit game that brought dance gaming to a whole new level. Over 80 songs of unique dance music not found in DDR games.
Dance Factory (Playstation 2) A unique dance game that uses your own CD music to dance to. (not very good to work though, Stepmania for PC does so much better.)
MC Groove Craze (Gamecube) A little known attempt by Mad Catz to bring dance gaming to Gamecube.
Happy Feet (Playstation 2 and Gamecube) a full dance game based on the upcoming movie from Warner Bros.
Stepmania (personal computer) A FREE dance game played to DDR style allowing you to download and install an unlimited number of songs to play on your computer. You can even create songcharts for your own .mp3 or .ogg files!

...and...

If you have a personal computer I strongly suggest you invest in In The Groove for Personal Computer. ITG for PC is truly the most powerful dance game I have ever seen. ITG for PC contains all of the songs for ITG arcade, some songs from ITG 2, and exclusive songs that were planned for the ITG 3 arcade. That is not all. The publisher also has a bit torrent download for their first song pack already released which installs all remaining ITG 2 arcade songs and courses into that game for FREE! In the end 163 official songs in that game alone. Not to mention more modifiers to make the game more challenging, an edit mode that you can make your own stepcharts and import them into the arcade version of In The Groove 2. Marathon and Survival courses which have modifiers that activate in mid gameplay as you play. It gets better, you can upload any Stepmania song folder into the ITG PC making it the only dance game you ever need. It is truly the best dance game of all time.

  • Is a Soft or Metal Dance Dance Revolution Xbox Pad the Right ...

Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR, is a video game that allows a player to stand on a pad and use their feet to tap arrows labeled left, right, up and down with their feet while watching corresponding arrows on a screen in front of them; this is done in rhythm to a song that is playing at the same time. While it was originally an arcade game it has gained even more popularity as a home game using gaming systems such as the Xbox and the Dance Dance Revolution Xbox pad. If you use an Xbox then you want to be sure to use the correct dance pad for you, does the one you currently use always score correctly? A few things you should know in order to get the best pad are to ask yourself a few questions...
