does the microsoft xbox 360 elite have live so you can play and chat with people online

They are mainly the same, except the pro is white and the elite is black. the elite has more memory 120Gb hard drive, pro has 60GB.
the elite come with a HD-MI cable which you can buy of Ebay for like £5-£10. Price: PRO-£160 elite £220.

Both have XBOX live and chat.

I suggest getting a pro as 60GB will be enough memory (120GB is just a stupid amount!) and if you want a HD-MI cable, Ebay is the place. Personally i think the white looks better than the black as the white looks more original.

I've been shopping around for a Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite and found the 2008 model to be cheaper. Both have the 120 gb hard drives...

The other answer is right, where older revisions of the Elite will have the Falcon chipset (or even the Zephyr, but that's more a 2007 model).

However, the latest revision of the Elite (just released in the last month or so when they cut the price from $399 to $299) no longer includes the HDMI cable or HD AV cables, it just includes the standard-def cable.

I used cords which were from an old 16.5amp xbox on the 14.2 elite.

Im am going to let it sit for a week, and buy a new power brick. Im sure it was the brick. It heated up the xbox and kept fans on even after I shutdown.
It said e73 and blinked 1 light

They should, as long as it's still under warranty.

In fact, it shouldn't even have broken it. For anybody that had one of the original Xenon 360s with the 16.5A power bricks, Microsoft replaces them with 14.2A Falcons. As a result there are lots of 14.2A systems that are being used with the 16.5A bricks.

I have tried all the major retailers in my area around San Jose (Target, Fry's, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and all have not seen the Elite's in their shipments for some time now. Is Microsoft pulling the plug on the machine? are they trying to create an artificial market for a struggling product? I just want to know where to purchase one, as it would be a major step up from my old Xbox. Thanks for the help.

my boyfriend bought his from Wal-Mart. and every Wal-Mart i've been to since he bought his, has had atleast two. maybe you should try looking there.

Another words has microsoft fixed someone's xbox 360 elite after sending it in for repair. For the sound cutting out.

I am having the same problem on my new 369 elite, it cuts out about every 4 mins for about 15 seconds....im not sure why it does it
