Can someone figure out if my wii is modified, even after i deleted the files?
IMG_6613

I modified my wii (well actually my friend's friend did but that doesn't matter.) Anywayz my question is that i am trading my wii in to best buy and they said that they wont accept modified wii's, I deleted all the files on it that make it "modified". Will bestbuy still be able to find out that it is modified? I already sent it in so i'll find out in a few days anyway but i want to know.

yes best buy can find out that its modded and if its modded they have official permission from nintendo to brick your nintendo wii

Are there any modified Wiis out there that I can buy?

Oh yeah! Wii mod community is huge (we are talking about case mods, right? if you are talking about mod chips, they have them, but nintendo keeps updating the firmware to make the modchips obsolete).

Just do a google search for "wii case mods" and you will come upon some cool sites, if you are into case modding you know that Ben Heck is THE guy to get info from, and on his website he actually has a step-by-step guide to making a "wii laptop" (which took me a lot more time than I expected, but is totally worth the results).

If you want to buy one and not make one, just hit up ebay. Or, let me know what you are looking for, and I might be able to set you up. I have a few Wiis that I am using (my laptop for roadtrips, a wii that I stuffed inside of a gamecube box--dont ask why--, and a black "Legend of Zelda" themed wii).

Can the wii be modified to play japanese games?

I think that I need a freeloader or mod-chip ?!?! where can I get this? Or who should I take it to to have my wii modified?

Ok it is only sold by 3rd party sellers and online.

go to
http://www.bamboogaming.com
and search for Wiikey + Wii Modchip.

You will find one, there around $150, they also let you play burnt games.

Illegal- Yes
Expensive- No

so yeah thats my little quote.

Have fun!

How can I restore a modified Wii that I updated
IMG_6614

Hi, I recently bought a modified Wii from Thailand, and I foolishly updated it. I was wondering if there was a way to "unupdate" it, as now I get the page cannot be found error when I try to access the settings. Also, if I do restore it back to how it originally was, will it still play backed up games?

Thanks

Oops. AFAIK- no downgrading. You should try to google 'wii downgrades'

While not necessary you may want to load home-brew and a loader onto your Wii. USB loaders are one of the fastest ways to dump your original disks for burning. Also its nice to use a loader and not worry about burning disks. You can even use it to not need to get up and switch disks to play a different game, but I do not condone that level of laziness While not necessary you may want to load home-brew and a loader onto your Wii.
