Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Wii

I heard there was a way to stop the Wii asking you to update your Wii so you could prevent semi-bricking your Wii or duplicating channels. Do any of you know how to do it?
i forgot to mention my wii is modded so yes there is a problem with updating my wii

you can't, but it won't simi-brick or anything. i am answering this on an updated wii and i know for a fact that updates are good, not bad.

Ok now i am playing Metroid Prime 3 for Wii and i am having a very hard time with one part in the game. It is the part where you are in Bryyo and you just got the upgrade "grapple" so that you can swing from the grapple hold. But for some reason i am stuck in the "courtyard" and can't figure out how to reach the grapples and swing across to the other side and procede on in the stage. If anyone knows what part in the game I am talking about would you please help me?
