SEGA Bass Fishing : Game Review. Release Date: February 26, 2008 Is wrangling a record-breaking bass on the Wii worth the effort, or does this ...
I want to buy my hubby a fishing game on wii for xmas - the two that im looking at are Big Catch Bass Fishing and Sega Bass Fishing
Which is better? The Sega one is more expensive - is that because it is better or just becuase its newer
Its more expensive since it is newer. But I did enjoy Sega more than big catch bass. I first got the Rapala game that came with the fishing rod and I enjoyed that. But sega was more like tournament fishing.
Which one is better? Hooked or Sega Bass Fishing for the wii? Can you use the new fishing rod remote for the Sega game, or just Hooked? Also it seems like people have already played the Sega game even though I couldn't find it anywhere, only pre-orders available until Feb 26th. Thoughts?
I never heard of hooked but I am looking forward to Sega Bass Fishing.
Price: $19.99
Ten of North America's greatest lakes are depicted, so players can easily recognize key landmarks and find their favorite fishing spots.
Players can tailor their equipment by going to the Bass Pro Shops in-game store to select lures, rods and reels. Players can also win new boats by winning tournaments.
Fishing Rod Controller: Whether casting, jigging, setting the hook, or reeling a fish in, players will be amazed by the sensitivity and feedback their fishing rod controller provides.
Basically, is this game fun. I saw many sites rate it high but I don't know anything about it.
The game is good enough not to disappoint you, but it isn't cutting edge or insanely addicting. If you like fishing, (which I do occasionally), you will like the 'sim' style it offers but notice the graphics quality is a bit low. The head to head mode adds to the competitiveness and the thrill of the hunt.
Overall I like the game because the Wii just makes virtual fishing with a beer that much better than going out on a boat when you can't ;)
Does Sega Bass Fishing 2008 for Nintendo Wii utilize the motion sensors in the "Nunchuck" and Wii Remote? Or is it like Smash brothers and you have to do just about everything semi-manually with a few motion compatible features?
Is Sega Bass Fishing 2008 compatible with the "Fish Pole" adapters for the Wii Remote and "Nunchuck"?
My Brother-In-Law wants a fishing game for wii for his birthday. I'm pretty loyal to the Sega Bass Fishing series. They seem to be the leader in realism and have been since they wrote the original program in the 90s. I just have hesitations on the game if you don't use the Wii Remote and "Nunchuck" as your fishing pole.
If you have anything else to add, please do. I want to know as much about it as I can before I buy it for him. I won't be able to test it before he does to make sure.
I know the game is not multi-player. If you have any suggestions of other games please note if it is multi-player and also if it does or does not utilize Wii's motion sensitive controllers.
When in doubt, I hop on Amazon, IGN, or Gamespot for reviews. The professional reviews are especially helpful, but you can usually find a thorough reviewer on Amazon.
Here's Amazon's link: http://www.amazon.com/Sega-Of-America-In c-65010/dp/B000X44XTM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie =UTF8&s=videogames&qid=121511926 7&sr=8-1
Looks like the controls are pretty intuitive; use the remote to hook and the nunchuck to reel. Yes, it is compatible with the fishing peripheral as they are (or were) selling combo packs of this game and the peripheral.
Another possibility would be Wii Hooked -- it actually looks a lot like Sega Bass Fishing, lol. Also compatible with the rod, sounds like the same controls too. And it does have online multiplayer, I believe. It also got good reviews on Amazon, so I think either would be a solid choice.
