Playstation 2 Memory

i'm playing Lode Runner the Legend Returns for the original playstation on my playstation 2. When i try to save the game it says "no memory card found" on the game screen. Is this because i'm using a playstation 2 memory card? Do i need an original playstation memory card to save?

Yes, you need the original PSX memory card to save PSX games.

I got a playstation 2 for Christmas, and my mom forgot to get me a memory card, now I have all these games to play, and no memory card. I went out and no wal- marts, or targets are open. So i was wondering if I could simply start a game, and leave it on until I get a new memory card tomorrow

You'd have to leave the PS2 on and not turn it off (turning the TV off is fine,) but yes, it's fine to put in the memory card whilst the games on/playing.

i am wanting to buy a playstation 2 memory card at circut city because it is closing. I figure i will be able to get the best deal there. Does anyone know how much they would cost? Thanks

I would check the website but I think an 8 mb is 15 bucks. It's not all that expensve.

I bought a ps1 game recently and i was playing it, then tried saving, but it just said, no Memory Card inserted, and it obviously was. The memory card i'm using is a playstation 2 memory card, but i think i might need a ps1 memory card for it to work, but i'm not sure if it will fit. I still need to buy a ps1 memory card, but i'm not sure if it will work, so theres no point if it won't work.

Yes, you need a PS1 memory card to save PS1 games. They do fit in the PS2 and are for the most part the same shape as the PS2 memory cards. The trick is actually finding one, though; eBay might be your best bet.

My memory card for my playstation 2 has gotten corrupted three times in the past four months. How could I prevent this from happening in the future?

I always wait for the game to save. It has nothing to do with me turning the game off when the game is saving at all.

Maybe it's my memory card or PS2?

The memory card usually only gets corrupted when you turn the console off as it is saving or loading or removing the memory card during the same situations. To prevent this simply don't do it but if you do only the game you were saving or loading should get corrupted, not the other save data.
