Instead of using Swap Magic, can you play burned games on the Playstation 2 by swapping out an original disc?
I don't think so. PS2s have a sensor that goes off whenever you open your disc tray and will read your disc and send you back to the menu screen. Even on the slim PS2s.
Play backups without a modchip or swap magic ! It's easier than it was on PSX !
My playstation 2's disc tray has it's front removed. this is the part where the logo would usually be, but it's been taken off. not the logo, but the whole front. i can still play disc and stuff, but will this stop a slide card from working with my playstation 2?
When I used swap magic I took mine off intentionally because it was easier to get the slide card in so it should be just fine.

After installing the flip top on a slim ps2, you are able to play import games using swap magic. Does the flip top not allow you to play my american games? Will I have to keep switching between the flip top and the normal cover?
the flip top is to be able to change the disc without reseting your PS2, yes you can play your american games with the flip top. You Have it easy i have to use the slide tool
hey im just wondering. before i buy a swap magic 3.6 with the flip top for my ps2 slim. would madden 08 and socom combat assaults and other new games work ? if possible can someone give me a list of games that wont work and wil work with the swap disc

Copying the disk isn't the hard part; you could do that with a normal CD-R drive. The hard part is that you have to find a mod chip that lets you play CD-R disks.
however, google "ps2 modchip", and you'll find plenty of sources. many are not from the U.S., which means you have to trust the supplier.

The game itself is strictly linear. While the player has a certain freedom of movement within the town, there is only ever one path forward, and the player must always have completed the necessary tasks before proceeding.
