Playstation 2 Internet Adapter

Is there something you can buy that allows your playstation 2 go online? i'm wondering this because if and when rock band comes out for the PS2 i want to be able to play online and stuff.

A network adapter, I got mine on amazon for 30 bucks 2 years ago and it still works to this day. Just go to amazon and type in ps2 network adapter.

It may come with a start up disk but if it doesn't, that's ok, some games will do the setup and save it for you.

heres the deal, ive got an original playstation 2, not the slim one, but i do have a network adapter plugged into the back so it has an ethernet port. ive had it connected when it was in my room previously but we moved it to the basement and there no hope of a wired connection, My question is; where can i find a cheap wireless network adapter with an ethernet plug rather than a usb plug? Or is there an adapter to make the usb plug into an ethernet plug??? PLEASE HELP! links would be appriciated, looking at around $50 total

you could try a homeplug it plugs in to your power socket and sends the broadband through your house wiring, you need one at each end and just plug you ethernet cable in to it

I want to have my (original) Playstation 2 hooked up to the internet.

You can buy the network adapter at best buy or circuit city. Look in the entertainment and games section in the store. Those sections of the store carry gaming equipment such as a network adaptor. Look in the playstation 2 section. Any other game stores could have the network adaptor such as gamestop and toy 'r' us.

I don't have a network adapter. Does Call of Duty 3 let you play it without going online (on playstation 2)?

I got it as a gift but it's still sealed. If it doesn't let me play it without a connection, I want to return it, so I don't want to break the seal. Thus, I can't check.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

yes call of duty 3 has a story mode and a local and online multiplayer mode. so yes to your question. you will be able to play call of duty 3 on your PS2 without an internet connection. you just won't be able to play multiplayer against other people on separate ps2s

I have a PS2, I just can't bring myself to buy a PS3. I just put wireless internet router in my house and i want to play some of my PS2 games on the internet. I don't have a network adapter for my PS2. Is it worth going out and getting one? Are people still playing PS2 games on the internet now that PS3 came out? I guess I just need some questions like that answered for me.

There was an announcement a few weeks ago by Sony that some PS2 games will have the game servers shut down in just a few months, so that means that some games that originally had Online will not have any more Online options. The shutting down of the game servers does not apply to all PS2 games, it only applied to about 7 or 8 PS2 game titles because I saw the list of games.

I really don't think that it's worth it to get a PS2 network adapter. The PS2 is pretty much near the end of it's lifecycle and most likely only has about 2 more years or less left.

However, it's a good idea to get a PS3. PS2 games may still be coming out, but they aren't going to be coming out forever. When you look at upcoming PS2 games, only a few of them are really worth buying. Star Wars The Force Unleashed and Mercenaries 2 are really the only pretty good game titles (other than sports games) that are coming out for the PS2. It's time to upgrade and this year is the perfect year to get a PS3 and If you want to get your hands on the newest and hottest game titles, you'll have to upgrade eventually.
