PS2 Camera

I have a ps2 eyetoy and a ps3. This camera works fine in Little Big Planet, burnout paradise and others. I want the people who are saying that the ps2 eyetoy doesn't work on a ps3 to explain how they are coming to this conclusion. I want them to tell me why my ps2 eyetoy camera ($5 used at Gamestop) works on my ps3, but they are telling others that they wont work togteher.

The reason for this is money. Half the time when a rumor is started (in example your eye toy question...) it is started by the company itself. Why you ask? Its simple if 1000 people hear the eye toy for ps2 doesn't work for ps3, about 700 will simply buy a new one. 200 will try it anyways and about 100 will attempt to mod it. If the eye toy cost 30 bucks brand new than for every 1000 people that hear this then they make 21000 off of that population.

review of the eyetoy

I have an EyeToy camera for the PS2, and I heard you can use it as a webcam. I searched it on google, but i only found confusing instructions to do so. Can someone please simpl tell me how to use the PS2 EyeToy Camera as a WebCam?

i have the same thing, you have to google the driver for the PS2 eyetoy...
incase you dont know a driver is like a buncha lines of coding that tells your computer what the camera is and how to use it...

so id say google or youtube "drive for eyetoy webcam" something like that and go down the list and your bound to find some nerd bored enough to write a driver for the eyetoy, then you download and install and your good to go! do not plug in the camera till after the driver is installed or your computer will freak the EFF out ok... i hoped i helped! have a good day!

ya. it can. actually might work better than most webcams. but ya, it's posible. and forthe person who said ps2's don't have USB ports, you obviously don't have one. cause they do...

I was just Wondering :Can I use My Eye toy ps2 camera as a webcam? cz im getting a ps3 and i Won;t play with my ps2 anymore

Unfortunately no. The Eye Toy only really works for the PS2. That being said you can use the Eye Toy on the PS3 to play PS2 Eye Toy games like Eye Toy Kinetic.

While I don't play my PS2 as much anymore I did keep it around because there are some games that work best on the PS2 that I still play (Ratchet and Clank 1 being an example). Also if your getting a PS3 now it won't play PS2 games (say goodbye to all your Final Fantasys).

I have an HP Pavillion Desktop,a1203w,And the thingy says USB 2.0 And i don't want to mess my computer up,will it affect my computer,and also,can i use it as one?
