Well I have a Spyro game from the PS1, and it works on PS2, all PS1 games should work on PS2. I don't know what frogger 2 swampy's revenge is, but as long as its PS1, it'll work on PS2. I have 2 spyro games on my computer, but I think its illegal. You'll also have to download a ton of stuff, like a torrent and a rom. I suggest sticking to the PS1 and PS2 thing. :D

I'm thinking of buying Frogger for playstation for my kids. But my kids don't have a playstation, they have a playstation 2. will the playstation games work on the playstation 2?

Yes, it will work. Frogger... that's a fun game.. they will love it.

PS2 games only work on the PS3 if it is the 60 gig or the 80 gig.
The 40 gig only runs PS3 games.
