Freedom Fighters PS2

When i am playing freedom fighters on my ps2 in multiplayer, i can do 2 people easly because there are 2 controller ports, but when i plug in my multitap, it knows it is there, but when i plug in a controller into it, it still says "insert a controller into controller port 2A"! any advice?

A) Check to see if it's compatible with a multi tap....I am assuming it is, but not all games are compatible with it.

B)Put the multitap into each of the controller ports and try it that way, I vaguely remember having some issues with it, but if I went to the other port, it worked fine.

Whats a good multi-player game like freedom fighters for the ps2 ?
Love 3rd person view games like freedom fighters and so does my son as we play it together, however we need a new game but I cant find one like it.

Battlefront 2 Star Wars
Splinter cell Chaos Theory
I havent seen anything else like freedom fighters that was a great game from beginning to the end

ALTHOUGH ITS AN OLDER GAME, I THINK IT IS MAYBE THE BEST COMBAT GAME MADE(AND IVE PLAYED DOZENS). AS YOU PROGRESS YOU WILL HAVE CHOICES OF GEAR, BUT NOT CLOTHING. THE CONTROLS ARE GREAT, ESPECIALLY WHEN COMMANDING YOUR SQUAD IN ACTION.
