Fix PS2

Ok.
My friend gave me 3 play stations 2's for free.
They all say they can't read the discs.

How can i fix this?
It's the Ps2 Slim.
I have cleaned the lens with rubbing alcohol and it still doesn't work.
I just bought a $20 game for it.

Anyone help me?

Well, you might could take it in to Game Stop, or a local video game shop. They can fix it for you! :) Hope it works!

My slim ps2 is from India and i am trying to get it to work in USA so i need to use a converter for that, but my video is not workin properly, it shows it as black and white , and the video keeps on going up and down,kinda like when an old movie reel gets stuck. What can i do to fix this?

India uses PAL video, while the US uses NTSC. You need a PAL to NTSC video converter, or get a TV that can do both NTSC and PAL. Both of these devices are sold in specialty stores dealing with overseas electronics. They're usually found in places like Chinatown or wherever there are a lot of immigrants located together. You can also find them on the web.

The weird thing about this disk read error problem is that it doesn't do this too all of my games! It only has that scary noise and disk read error for some (and only some) of my PSOne games. How can I fix a PS2 disk read error?

ah! I had this problem and had to fix it ALOT! Ill give you a link that has step by step instructions on how to fix it....all you really need is alcohol wipes, very small screw driver, and a cuetip or cotton ball......heres the link

My Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game has always worked fine on my ps2 until one day it wouldn't load the game. Now it always gets stuck loading in the same spot. Sometimes the game actually does load but then it freezes.
The problem is not my ps2. It doesn't say disc read error or anything. I clean it regularly.
Is there any way to fix the disc? It would be a shame to throw out such a cool game.

SIMPLE! Some places sell the GTA3/VICE CITY/SAN ANDREAS in a box set for $30. Just buy all three games for this price...its almost a steal!

My PS2 stopped playing discs of ALL kinds. How much would it cost to get this fixed? And is the cost worth it or should I just get a new game console? Oh and it's the slimmer design of the PS2 not the original design.

new ps2 with warranty $100

get a new one or a ps3
they don't play ps2 games anymore though
