Backup PS2 Games

Sometimes I lend my PS2 games to my friends and sometimes they're all scratched when I get them back so I started making backup copies of my CD's if I couldn't play them again after lending. How can I play them without modding or disc-swapping?

Other then modding your PS2, all you can do is hope that your game is compatible on something like PCSX2

Yes. You'll need to rip a copy of your original game, then download a program called "Disc ID Insertor". Use this program to grab (extract) the ID # from your original PS2 disc, and use the program again to insert (patch) the ID # into the backup image. Finally, burn the backup at slowest possible speed (just to avoid problems and frustration). Also, you might want to consider use high quality CD media (if game is CD base) or high quality DVD media (if media is DVD base) such as ritek, ridata, verbatim, etc... or media's of that grade. Even though you burn the game at the slowest speed, using a crappy media can cause problem as well.

One thing you should know when you make backups to play online is sometime they randomly check for "backed up" DNAS ID code. They will detect it and will ban your PS2's MAC address and you will not be able to play online ever again, unless you bet a new PS2 that has a new MAC address.

If you ever get banned, look for this program "ID Changer". This will allow you to change your PS2's MAC address so you can get back online. Getting all these program to work is entirely up to you to do the research. Frankly, I don't feel like writing a 5 page essay. LOL. Well, good luck.

Yes, v2.1 does eject on its own.

I have heard that v2.0 and lower does not eject on its own.

I just wanted to ask because I can not find any v2.0 or lower Gameshark 2s in any stores.

Or is there a hack or something to keep the ps2 from ejecting with Gameshark without breaking the ps2.

no to play backups you need a modchip, swap magic, or hd loader

no those are the only ways of playing your ps2 backup games. If they are from an other region then you have to buy a ps2 from that region but if your planning on playing a burn game then you will need one of the two item swap magic or a mod chip.

i Want to backup my ps2 games, because i have two ps2's one is mines and one is my friends, he borrows all the games i have, and messes them up. so i would like to backup the copy so i can play it even if he messes them up.

I don't intend to break copyright laws, i buy games, and i do not condom in pirating.

this would be use as a backup copy only ok.
