Nhl 2008 PS3

give me reasons why..i played NHL 2007 for PS2 and I score 10 goals like nothing in hard..and on NHL 2K7 for PS3 it was a bit difficult but I always found ways to win easily at times.

Get NHL08. 07 was awesome, but alot of fluidity and movement problems, and too many garbage goals. My buddy works at EA, and he said they were working on tightening up the engine for it. He brought it home last week, and said its way better than 07. I'm going over there to try it tomorrow night, hes got PS3, and 42" LCD.

I want to get a ps3 i have a ps2 and i have to keep moving it form tv to tv because san anderas got burned into the Plasma Tv so i move the ps2 to a other tv but i was just thinking that i would get a new ps2 or ps3 i can't pick but... i want to know about the ps3

1) can it play ps2 games
for me that would be Nhl 2k8 or nhl 2008 or San anderas
will it let me play those
2) whats up with the memory things on that (40gb or 80gb) could you give me both prices
3)should i even put money towards the PS3? or stay with a ps2
4) can you use ps2 controllers with ps3?

the ps3 60 and 80GB can only play the ps2 games becuse they have backward compatabillity but id go for the ps3 because the last major game for ps2 will be God Of War 2
and so it is waring out of playstation life so again the ps3

i am having a problem with all of my games!!! none of them are scratched!!! when i go into a game say nhl 2008 and try to sim to the next day in dynasty mode it will freeze up! wont budge! annoying!!! i have already had to take my old ps3 in because the hard drive ruptured! and its not just happening to just this game it has happened with madden 08 MBL08 ncaa fb08 FFA 08 nhl08 and nba08 none of the disks run when you try to sim! so its not the game its the ps3!

recap games wont work when trying to sim in sports games!

It's because your PS3 is slightly overheated, thus making it freeze as a defence mechanism. The same thing happens to laptops.

i dont have a hd tv yet..soon..but my question is that when i load up cod4, before it loads to the game, the screen kinda jerks and shows a blue screen for a second, then it loads..when it loads, the screen (gameplay and intro) is just black and white and also squished at the bottom..at like the bootom 2 inches of the TV...the video seems like it's also squished so everything is a bit thinner than normal..mind you, playing nhl 2008, the video is normal but cod4, it's like that.. not sure if it's my TV, or the game, or my console?..updated firmware and cod4 as well...help please! (btw, i live in canada and my ps3 is the ceramic white one from hong kong..dont know if it matters)

You pointed out the problem yourself!

Certain games play funny in a PS3 from a different region. Your PS3 is from HK, which is a different region than Canada. In order for it to function properly, your SDTV needs to accept PAL and NTSC signals (most newer sets do)

So as long as you're playing on that SDTV, CoD4 will be distorted. When you play on a HDTV (720p or 1080i/p, it doesn't matter), everything will be fine, since HD is the same everywhere in the world. [NTSC and PAL are 2 different resolutions and refresh rates, which is why your game would distort].

More incentive to upgrade to an HDTV^^
