New Playstation 3

I'm in no way "dogging" on the new playstation 3. I am simply curious what technilogical improvements/advances were made to playstation 2 that is justifying this rush on finding PS3s. Is it just that they are made for high def TVs like xbox 360? This curious mind just wants to know!

9. Sony has very good relations with development companies.
10. Connectivity with PSP (as a remote)

Where can i find a brand new Playstation 3 with Playstation 2 compatibility? Could You tell me the store, could i get it from sony or could i send my ps3 160gb in, and ask them to put the ps2 compatibility chip in?

You can't find them brand new, the chip was discontinued last year, and replaced with software for the old 80GB which is now discontinued. Sorry to say Sony won't put the software in the system for you, your best bet is getting a PS2 at Game Stop, hell they might even have an 80GB w/ b\c in stock

I was just wondering if you are going to pick up the new Sony Playstation 3 that comes out today?

I don't think I will - too expensive, plus in a year, something new will be coming out!

People are stupid as hell. I'll buy it when it drops to about $350 for the 60GB system. There no way I'll camp out at a store for several nights for that. I love video games and I have a PS2. I also realize that the PS3 is a new generation system, but not for $600. Read the unnecessary crimes committed for this damn thing:

Reports of violence surrounding the release of the PS3 include a customer shot, campers robbed at gunpoint, and customers shot with BB guns, 60 campers fight over 10 systems. One man was sent to the hospitial for an injury when a stampede began after a Walmart reportedly placed 10 chairs outside of the store and told 50 people to "try to get in one of the chairs" for a chance to buy one the 10 systems the store received. In a similar incident elsewhere, police were forced to use pepper balls to contain a rowdy crowd ouside of a Circuit City. Two gunmen robbed a GameStop store the night before the release, taking several PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
