No, entirely different games. Midnight Club La, for ps3 is extremely in-depth and has a HUGE city. LA remix is more based on Midnight club 2, with LA being very small scale, but includes a Tokyo campaign to compensate.

It should show up automatically. Gonna be South of LA. If you see the Stadium in the Southeast corner, then you've got it.

Try heading to the online section in the 2nd menu. Go to the downloadable content and select the pack. If its there, then you've got it.

What things do you need to do in order to unlock it?

You need to...

1) Find the biggest dealer in the city
2) Proposition him for oral sex. Multiple times
3) Find a cure to the herpes you gave him
4) Slit both wrists, with a dull swiss army knife.
5) Drink all blood expelled via said wrists
6) Vomit all blood drank onto PS3 while game is playing.

This will not only unlock the R8, but all other secrets and unlockables in the game.
