Blue PS3

The PS3 has a very low failure rate, however some of the systems do fail. What are some of the common problems or issues with PS3 hardware? Is there a problem with PS3 Blue Ray hardware? Some reviews I've read have mentioned it's common for the PS3 Blu Ray to fail. Is this true? What generally causes PS3 hardware to fail, defect or improper use? I would like to know if the PS3 has durability issues, before I purchase one. What really are the common hardware issues with the PS3?

Mostly because...
Switched off inappropriately.
Dust.
Turning off the PS3 when installing data.
Overheat.
And some of them are just unlucky.

Blu-Ray failure isn't the most common hardware failure but it does happen because it's overused, not enough time to rest and playing games that are dirty.

Me unboxing my new PS3 Slim (320GB) from Colorware. Custom PS3 colors: Metallic Techno Gloss, Metallic Jet Black Gloss, Metallic Graphite Gloss ...

I can't for the love of me figure out how to get my PS3 Blue tooth head to connect and work properly. Its one of the Sony ones meant for PS3 so it should work. Can somebody give me step by step instructions so i can see where I'm going wrong?

On your PS3, go under Settings and find Bluetooth devices, or something like that. Have it search for devices and turn on your headset. It should find the device and it should then be linked up to your system.

My ps3 blue ray drive broke so now im looking for a new one, if anyone is selling one or knows where can i buy one i will like to know.

On eBay you can always find people selling systems for parts, just ask the seller if the drive still works and you might be able to get a good price on a used one. Otherwise you'll have to buy a new drive directly from Sony.

Which is better, a regular Blue Ray player, OR, the Blue Ray player built into the PS3?

btw I already have a PS3, but my dad says he might get a blue ray player because he says that it might have better quality.
and yes, we are gettig a new Samsung HDTV (series 860)
so we will be getting some HDMI cables :D

there the exact same with picture quality since the PS3 has a high end CPU/GPU on board it will load the discs faster than a blue ray dvd player really there's no point in buying a blue ray your better off buying a second ps3 cause not only is it a better blue ray dvd player it is a gaming system a cd player has a internet brower can act as a cheap alternative to a computer really sorry to say it but anyone that buys a blue ray knows absolutely nothing about technology and deserves to be slapped ...........unless if your rich as hell and use 100 dollar bills as toilet paper and just like to throw money away i have actually made a report for a school report once on why parents don't buy ps3's and go for the more expensive and worse blue ray players so this might fit into why your dad wants one if he gets a blue ray dvd player that shows that 1.) he has a lot of money and likes only the best and 2.) the reason parents buy more expensive and a worse blue ray over a ps3 is because if he has friends over his friends won't see a ps3 they will see a blue ray dvd so they won't think he's a kid and is more mature and grown up

I have tried and tried to get my PS3 blue ray player to play a partially watched disk from the place I last left off.

No luck. Every time, it starts from the beginning.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not electronics smart so you will have to give me detailed step by step instructions.

Please help me! It can't be that hard right??

OK how far into the movie were you? If you were 30 mins or more into the movie, then press R2 until the screen says "120x" and then after 3 seconds press Start. Repeat until you find the part you were looking for.

Or, if you want more precision, just press R2 (right trigger) a few times.

Or, if you skipped the part, then press L2 once (left trigger) or until you reach your part.

Other options:

Watch it from the start.
