Beowulf PS3

I go back to my starting menu on the ps3, and it is in colour there.. but on the game it is black and white, can someone help me with this? as i just recieved it from a friend, i dont want to waste it.

Sounds like your using a region game that your TV isn't capable of. For example, running a PAL game on a NTSC TV will run it in black and white and vice-versa.

I bought the game Beowulf but the catch is that it is an american copy, or NTSC, so considering that I live in australia does that mean that it's black and white because of the region difference???

It is probably because of the region difference, or at least that's what I've read online.
It could also have something to do with your output settings.
Also, if you have an HDTV, try connecting the PS3 to that and see if it has color (or colour). If it does, then it is a problem with NTSC/PAL, but if it doesn't, I don't know what you could do. Just as long as it still doesn't show up in color (which it should if it's in HD because the whole world uses the same three HD signals) you could contact Sony and see if they know how to fix it or if they would replace your PS3.

im getting my brothers a game for ps3. they are 15 and 20. which game would they probably like better, beowulf or the new pirates?

For 10 bucks yes. It is an average game, that's why it has fallen to 10 dollars: because average games don't sell well.

Being an average game ain't so bad. The real ratio is that if an average game was 100 percent, a great game would be 120 percent and a crap game 80 percent. Even going by reviewer's standards which are in and of themselves crap.

Never listen to a game reviewer! What they say is all part of what they are paid for: hyping games. If a game developer doesn't give them kickbacks, they won't hype it. If they hype a game that doesn't turn out to be 110 to 120 percent, they will turn around and trash it, because it won't sell magazines.

That is to say, reviewers only get paid because of the absolute, top most popular games. If they put "Grand Theft Auto 4" or "halo 3" or "Resistance 2 reviewed" on the cover, they sell magazines. It has nothing to do with game quality, only hype level.

The only games reviewers ever give good ratings to are games that have the potential to be extremely popular. This is regardless of quality. They pick various titles to pre-hype. Then about 10 percent of those titles pay off, and they give the other 90 percent ratings of 2 or 3 stars.

Last I will say about reviewers here: they are bloodsucking leeches growing fat of the hard work of dedicated designers and coders.

Beowulf was never hyped, but that doesn't mean it will ever get an honest review.

The only way to be sure if a game is any good is to play it yourself. For an expensive game, rent it first and see, or play the demo if available. But since there is no Beowulf demo and it's only 10 bucks anyhow, why not? It can't be that bad.

Besides, it was a great movie. It has Angelina Jolie naked, with liquid gold dripping off her body. If the game's got those scenes, it's worth it for sure.
